Chile

Part One: Chile

Just a quick note to all - we have had to set this whole thing up in Espanol, so if it doesn't make sense or if you are getting it in Spanish, we apologise and will endevour to fix it....(If it's Spanish you probably can't understand this anyway..)

After leaving Sydney at lunchtime on Sunday we finally arrived at Santiago 2 hours later(well thats in Santiago time anyway). As you can imagine it was a very long day. With no sleep on the 16 hour journey we broke all of the jet lag rules and went to bed until 10pm.

That night turned into an eye-opener of the Santiago gay scene. While having an after dinner beer we met 2 lovely locals Joel and Martin who took us out dancing and since it was lunchtime by our clocks we happily salsa'd until dawn with the best of them.

Our week in Santiago was great and we settled into the Bellavista area easily meeting lots of great locals.

Then it was onto Patagonia - we did it!! It being the "W" circuit in the Torres del Paine (Towers of Pain) National Park.If any of you think you've been on a big walk, think again my friends as this is a hardcore 5 day straight trek with limited sleep in cold refugios along the way, full of snoring tourists. Some were so loud like a freight train that nicknames such as 6.15 started to stick..

However this was easily one of the best weeks of our lives and fortunately we met some great people, 6.15 is one of them (he is pictured with Andy) and a group of Irish that were awesome and who we might spend Christmas with in Buenos Aires if we get there in time.

Anyway we have just arrived in Argentina so we will blog again in a month, when we hit the next country...

Take care and lots of Love

Anna and Andy
